shot 1The buy box, with the required personalisation field empty and Add to cart live

What we saw

  • The field is marked required and the buy button works with it empty.
  • The basket keeps the size, the pattern and the font — and no name, and no buckle colour.
  • A shopper can buy a personalised collar carrying no personalisation.
  • Nothing anywhere on the way through tells them that happened.

Why it matters

  • Three separate things are wrong, so checking the field alone will not fix it.
  • The font arrives because it is named the way Shopify expects and has a default already chosen.
  • The buckle colour is named right and still arrives empty, because neither swatch starts selected.
  • The name is discarded on the way to the basket however carefully it is typed.

shot 2The sign-up modal, over the phone homepage

What we saw

  • It asks for a name and an email before the visitor has seen a product they can decide about.
  • A full minute of no interaction produced nothing; the first press anywhere brought it up.
  • So everyone who touches the store gets it, and nobody who only looks does.
  • On a phone the modal and its dimmer take the whole screen — there is nothing left to go back to.

Why it matters

  • The offer may well be worth making. The timing is the part that is not.
  • It trades the decision they came to make for the one you would rather they made.
  • On a phone there is no visible page left behind it to return to.

  • The only way into any of eight collections is to scroll the homepage to the category row.
  • The search button, its panel and its icon are all in that header, and all measure as not visible.

Why it matters

  • A visitor who arrives knowing what they want has nothing to type into and nothing to tap.
  • They scroll or they leave, and on 104 products scrolling is the slower of the two.

shot 4The first step of checkout: rupees above, three countries below, none of them the visitor's

What we saw

  • Rupees on the homepage, the product page, the basket and the first screen of checkout.
  • The checkout's country list is Canada, Mexico and the United States. That is all of it.
  • The shopper being quoted is in none of the three, so no address can be completed.
  • They find this out after choosing a collar, personalising it and reaching payment.

Why it matters

  • Not a converter app: your store reports the Indian market itself and prices on the server.
  • Somebody switched a market on; the shipping zone that would complete it was never added.
  • Both halves are settings you own, and they disagree with each other.

How this happens, in order4 steps

  • At least one of the ten still says "(Copy)" in the title a shopper reads, on the screen above.

Checking this audit

Everything above, and what it rests on

Four sections, and they are here so the 9 findings can be argued with: what we did not look at, how to reproduce any figure yourself, why no percentage appears anywhere, and exactly what we did on your site. Each is coloured the way the findings above are: red where this audit is exposed, green where there is something you can do, amber where we stop short of a claim, and ink where the evidence itself sits.

What we could not see10 named gaps

An audit that hides its blind spots is guessing. These are ours, named.

not measured

How fast your homepage really is

  • A measurement of our own. The audit ran a lab test on 27 August and graded the phone homepage very slow; we did not re-run it, and a figure we cannot check is a figure this page will not print — so its numbers are in the audit and not here. One thing the walk did establish and can hand you: your product page draws its personalisation fields from a product-options app, and the audit's own script inventory found more than one such app installed. Resolving that duplication is worth doing on its own merits, before anybody argues about images.

not measured

What order your catalogue should open in

  • A view about what should lead, and then a test. /collections/all opens alphabetically, which is a filing order rather than a selling one — but alphabetical is a coherent choice and we cannot show from outside that it costs you anything. Best selling is the usual answer and a hand-set Featured order is better if you have an opinion. That is something to try together, not a defect to charge you for.

not measured

Anything after the payment button

  • No order was placed and no payment method was entered, so nothing about confirmation, dispatch, the order email or the packing slip is known. Whether the personalisation a shopper types reaches you by some route the basket does not show can only be settled from an order export.

not measured

Account pages

  • Nothing was logged in. Registration, the account area and any returning-customer path are unexamined; the audit's own login attempt timed out.

not measured

The mockup generator

  • Reachable from the announcement bar and priced separately. It was inventoried only, never exercised.

not measured

Whether markets other than India are quoted but unservable

  • One unservable market was measured, and one servable one as a control. Whether the same contradiction holds for every other country the store quotes needs the same two-column test from a second address on a different network.

not measured

Why the search controls do not render

  • They are measurably present and measurably invisible. Whether a theme setting or a stylesheet rule hides them was not diagnosed, and that decides how long the fix takes.

not measured

The exact rule that fires the sign-up modal

  • It stayed away for a minute of no interaction and arrived within seconds of the first press. Separating first-interaction from scroll depth from a press-restarted timer needs a purpose-built run.

not measured

Whether the rupee rounding is a setting

  • The displayed Rs. 1,600.00 is above the converted 1,557.88. That is consistent with a price-rounding rule, but the rule itself is merchant-side and was not read.

What any of this costs you

  • Your own numbers — what people click, what they abandon, what comes back. We had none of it, which is why there is not a single money, lift or percentage figure on this page.

How to check any line on this page

  1. Open the page named under any figure, at the width in its caption — 390 px is a phone, 1440 px is a laptop. In Chrome: DevTools, then the device toolbar, then set the width.
  2. Select any quoted text on this page and search your own page for it. It should match character for character.
  3. The red ring on a picture is the region we measured, drawn where and at the size we measured it. Any pixel figure under "what was measured" is in CSS pixels, at the width named in that figure's caption.
  4. If the store has changed since we captured it, a claim may no longer reproduce. That is worth knowing — and it does not un-measure the capture: every figure here comes from the dated screenshots on this page.

Why there is no percentage anywhere here

  • Not a percentage, not a range, not an "up to".
  • We can tell you the leaks and their direction with confidence; we cannot size them without your analytics, and anyone who says otherwise is selling you a spreadsheet.
  • Every figure on this page is either measured on the capture or quoted from the audit with its source named.

How this was captured

  • Walked at both widths. The money path is argued where the shopper meets it: the product form, the basket after a real press of Add to cart, and the homepage price are phone screens, because that is where a personalised collar is bought. The checkout is shown at both widths, because the country list is the finding and it must be seen to be the same list on both. The category row, the sort order, the drifted cards and the opened Shipping & Returns accordion are laid out for a laptop and are shown there. One board, the US-pinned control, is desktop only — it exists to be compared against the rupee boards, not to be read on its own.
  • Captured 27 August 2026 from a residential connection in India, in Chromium at a phone width and a laptop width, logged out. Sixteen boards were captured in the market the store serves that address — Indian, in rupees — and one, the control, with a US market cookie set before the first request. No script was blocked on any board. One test basket was filled by pressing the store's own Add to cart button and was cleared afterwards; no order was placed and no field was entered at checkout. Every rectangle on this page is a getBoundingClientRect reading taken in the same instant as the picture beside it, with one exception that says so on its own card: the sign-up modal renders inside a shadow root the measurer cannot see into, so its rectangle is placed by hand.
